All-Natural Immune Boosting Solutions

December 08, 2018 3 min read

I don’t know about you, but once cold and allergy season returns during the transitional months, I start thinking about how I can keep myself from getting sick.

I’m the farthest thing from a germaphobe—after all, I competed for years as a mixed martial arts fighter—but like most people, I can’t stand being cooped up on the couch nursing a cold and having to take days off from the gym. There are a number of ways you can boost your immune system, and while the worst-case scenario might include a trip to your neighborhood pharmacy to pick up some cold and sinus medicine, if you take the proper steps to protect yourself against getting those germs in the first place, you can do it in an all-natural way.

The first thing you want to make a practice of, especially in the spring, is washing your hands as frequently as possible. Between the pollen that’s floating around in the air and the number of germs you encounter on a daily basis, killing any of those unwanted pathogens with simple soap and water is a small but important step in the right direction. We all remember being kids and playing outside until our moms called us in for dinner, right? Well, what was the first stop we made before heading to the dinner table? It was the bathroom, to wash our hands before eating.

Just because we don’t have our mothers to remind us of this on a daily basis now doesn’t mean that it’s not just as important to us today as it was back then. In fact, when you’re a kid, it’s even easier for your body to fight off infection because you’ve basically got an endless supply of energy. When you’re a little older, you have to take more steps to make sure you don’t catch a cold when it’s going around the workplace.

Another thing you can do to boost your immune system without loading your body with unnatural chemicals is turn to the hidden power of fruits and vegetables. No, I’m not saying you have to go into full-on vegetarian mode. What I’m suggesting is that you can start making juices or smoothies that are packed with the sort of natural nutrients that help fight off colds before they can wreck your system. Besides the old saying that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, you’ll be surprised how just increasing your intake of vitamins like B and D can help you make it through the spring season cold-free. And even if none of those sound like good options for you, there’s always the trusted Vitamin C you get from orange juice. Just add a cup of that a day when all else fails.

The last thing I do to make sure that I’m making my immune system as strong as it can be is turn to my O2 Trainer. Yeah, you’re probably used to hearing me talk about how the O2 Trainer can help increase your endurance and how it showed a slight increase in red blood cells for those who participated in tests. But one of the other benefits is how well this small device can actually make a positive impact on your immune system.

So if you put all of these three tips together, you’ll be ready to make the most of the sunny, warmer months ahead.
